A painted fireplace screen. High 80 cm. Wide 34 cm. With the angel restraining Abraham from sacrificing his son Isaac. Above the text: "Den engel seide tot Abraham siet en legt uw hand aan de jonge niet", (The angel said to Abraham look now and don't put your hand on the boy). This type of screen was placed in front of the fireplace during the summer. It was probably made in Friesland around 1750.
