Ref.:
19071

A Delft blue tile. Size: 13 x 13 cm. Thickness 12 mm. The tile shows a large bagpipe player. Corners decorated with "ox-heads".  The thickness of the tile and the size of the player point to an origin in the first quarter of the zeventeenth century. This type of tile is rare. The bagpipe was a rather common musical instrument in the Low Countries around the year 1600.
