A 17th C. "Delft White" ceramic albarello ointment jar

An ointment jar. High 7,5 cm. Diameter 6,5 cm. The "albarello" shape is derived from Italian ceramic. This jar was found in a seventeenth century excavation site. The sulfuric salts are responsible for the dark patina in several spots. The jar is in good conditions with some signs of use. Delft, mid 17th C.
