A large cast iron "Tree of Life" from Staphorst. Including the original window-frame. Measuring 95 x 69 cm. Retaining its original yellow paint. This type of window was situated above the front door and was supposed to bring health and happiness to the person entering the house. Staphorst is a village in the eastern part of Holland, and is famous for its colourful traditional furniture and dress. In excellent condition, made in the first half of the 19th C.
