A painted oak footrest dated 1879

An oak footstool. High 20 cm. Wide 35 cm. Deep 15 cm. Painted in "trompe l'oeil" mahogany. On one side the name of the owner "M.Rang" and on the other side the date "1879". This type of stool was used in the church to prevent ladies from getting cold feet. This item is in a remarkably mint condition with barely any sign of use. It was made and used in the area called "West-Friesland".
