A painted oakwood lion. Height 22 cm. Length 32 cm. Well carved oakwood and painted green. On a yellow base. His left paw resting on a large ball. This type of decoration was displayed on the rudder of traditional Frisian sailing ships. In good condition, considering its age. Friesland, eightteenth century.
