A ringcatchers stick. Overall length 85 cm. In reasonable condition with signs of intensive use. Ringcatching is a very popular sport in the southern Dutch province of Zeeland. Seated on horseback a man and these days very often a woman has to catch a ring with this type of stick. During the session the ring becomes smaller and smaller. Especially in the summer ringcatching attracts many tourists. The present stick was made and used in the second half of the nineteenth century.
