A pair of 19th C oak sugar moulds with an elephant.

A set of oak sugar-moulds. Length 30 cm, width 8 cm, thickness 1,5 cm. The moulds were pressed together and in the three resulting holes the liquid hot sugar could be poured. The moulds are very well and deeply carved. They have an image of a dog, a staircase and an elephant. Elephants are rare in this type of mould. Holland, 19th C.
