A rare brass standard meter made by Kleman Amsterdam

A solid brass standard Dutch meter. Weight 1,2 kg. One side divided in 10 decimeters, the other in centimeters and millimeters. In the middle a clear hallmark "g". On the left: "Nederlandsche El / (Meter)". On the right: "J.M.Kleman & Zoon. Kon Instr:-Makers Amst:". Kleman (1781-1857) was a famous instrumentmaker. This standard meter was made around 1820 as a copy of the standard meter in Paris. A similar item is kept in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
