An 18th C. oak Frisian sliding lid case with owners initials and delicate geometric decorations.

A painted oak box. Long 42 cm. High 17 cm. Wide 21 cm. With a sliding lid. The lid decorated with a series of 20 painted arrows and in the middle the initials "A.F.K.". On the front side another star shaped painted decoration. On the long front side two separate decorations in red, white and blue. The box is in a good condition and has a very nice patina. No damages or restaurations. Probably Northern Netherlands, possibly Friesland, mid 18th C.
