A painted pinewood box. High 25 cm. Long 44 cm. Wide 29 cm. Painted in traditional Southern German style with use of natural colours derived from plants. The box is in good condition. These boxes were widely imported in the Low Countries in the 18th and 19th C. The pictures are part of the description. Southern Germany around 1800.
