A small mangle tray. Wide 48 cm. Deep 33 cm. High 7 cm. Constructed in sapwood the tray is painted all around in "trompe l'oeil" mahogany. Inside a primitive flower. This type of tray was used to bring the still moist laundry from the mangle to the meadow for drying in the sunshine. West Friesland, nineteenth century.
