A sixteenth century delicately painted wooden strongbox with three well functioning locks.

A painted box. Size: 28 x 18 x 10 cm. On the lid a superbly painted full length portrait of a lady and a gentleman. Painted around with flowers and guirlandes in gold paint. On the inside in the middle a large lock and at the front another two locks operated by the same key. Therefore the box could be opened only in the presence of two people. The box , made in the early sixteenth century is in mint condition with some restorations. It is supplied with 4 keys.
