An extremely rare early eightteenth century Frisian polychrome "Kerbschnitt" mangle board with the coat of arms of the city of Bolsward.

A mangle board. Long 78,5 cm. Wide 13,5 cm. Thick 12 mm. Decorated with high quality "kerbschnitt" decoration, all different , in five circles. In the top circle the coat of arms of the Frisian city of Bolsward, a double headed eagle. Extremely rare is the colouring of the board. Similar boards can be seen in Hollum on the island of Ameland in the "Sorgdrager House" Museum. This mangle board was made around 1700.
