A small grapnell. Overall height 15 cm. Above a hook for fixation to a piece of rope. Three prongs all forged from a single piece of iron. A good example of the art of the blacksmith. This type of grapnell was used to retrieve objects from the water and was kept on board of a small boat. Low Countries, 18th C.
