A very rare 19th C. Dutch brass eel-bucket with a separate bait-compartment.

A brass eel-bucket. Overall height (including handle) 38 cm. Maximal diameter 24 cm. The exceptional feature of this bucket is the separate bait compartment. This type of bucket was used to keep eel along with the bait alive by partially keeping it underwater. Made around 1850 in one of the Dutch provinces. In perfect condition. No repairs or damages.
