An 18th C. nicely carved and painted oak bedstool from Friesland dated 1743.

An oak bedstool. Wide 81 cm. High 40 cm. Deep 33 cm. On one side : "ANNO 1743" and the initials of bride and groom: "MS" and "AKD". Along with birds and flowers. On the other side surprisingly exactly the same initials, birds and flowers, but now with "ANNO 1876". Apparently this stool was given twice as a wedding present, first in 1743 and then again 124 years later. The stool still remains in mint condition.
