A 19th C traditional painted wooden bread serving plate.

A painted wooden bread-tray. Diameter 36 cm. Overall height 10 cm. This type of tray was commonly used in the province of Zeeland for serving bread. The green colouring with a rim in red is typical. These trays were made from leftovers of the construction of farm carts. This specimen is in remarkably good condition. Zeeland 19th C.
