A German guild-box with double lock, dated 1662

A wooden box measuring 57 x 32 x 25 cm. Painted black and in white the names of members of the guild, a coat of arms with tools and in front and on the lid the date "1662". Also with the symbol of the weavers guild. With one lock with a key turning to the left and another one turning right. Thus the box could only be opened bij simultaneous action of two persons. In remarkably good condition. Southern Germany, 17th Century.
