A couple of Dutch eighteenth century brass church bench candlesticks.

A pair of candlesticks. Mounted on a wooden block. Overall height with block 12 cm. Height without block 10 cm. The brass candlesticks are fixed to an iron pin with several copper nails. Both in mint condition. This type of candlestick was used by owners of a bench in the church. It enabled them to have light to read their bible. It was therefore a rich mans item: They owned a bench and moreover were able to read. Holland early eighteenth century.
