A candle box. High 42 cm. Wide 15 cm. Deep 9 cm. Oakwood. Elaborate "Kerbschnitt"-decoration on all sides, except the back. On the lid the initials "A" and "JM". Suggesting this was a wedding gift. On the back of the lid several grooves, suggesting that the decorater tested his tools. The box is in mint condition. Made around 1650 in Friesland.
