A small 18th C. Southern German pinewood box decorated with flowers.

A small painted box. High 9 cm. Wide 19 cm. Deep 12 cm. The box, made of pine, rests on four small feet. The lid, front and both sides are painted with flowers. The colours were all derived from floral substances. This accounts for a very attractive faded patina. The box was made in Southern Germany, the "Erzgebirge"-area in the 18th C. It is in mint condition.
