An eighteenth century four prongs Dutch grapnel.

A small grapnel. Overall length in hanging 28 cm. Maximal distance between the four prongs 17 cm. The grapnel is forged from one piece of iron around a large ring. A suspension hook is also forged to the ring. This type of grapnel was used to retrieve objects from the water. Mint condition. Holland, eighteenth century.
